Random Ramblings of a not-so-good gamer

So, in case you all didn't know, MY computer, in my room, is out of commission at the moment. I have two leads on fixing it. One I haven't looked into yet, and the other will work, but cost $200. In the meantime, I've been using school computers, and the one in the basement. I don't really like doing the latter, because there's all kinds of bugs down there. Ikk. However, I FINALLY (with the help of my boyfriend) moved it upstairs, onto an old desk my sister used to use (it's gorgeous and I love it). Now, up til now, most computer desks I've used have two "levels", and the monitor sits on the top level. Since I'm so short, this means I can never really view the flatscreen monitors at just the right angle, which blows when I'm gaming. The old desk of my sister's, however, only has one level. What I realized as I was playing to celebrate last night? I can SEE the screen!!!! *squees*

The more I think about it, the more I miss Imoen. If you've ever played the Baldur's Gate games (no, NOT Dark Alliance; I'm a PC gamer), you'll know who I mean. If you haven't, wiki it. It'd take to long to explain, and I'd indubitably bore you all. Suffice to say that she is an eternally cheerful thief, and the first person to join me in the first game I ever played. She was my little sister, and she will always hold a special place in my heart. I've never finished the final chapter of Baldur's Gate 2, and now I'm not sure I want to. Will I hear that we end up being parted forever? It's something to muse on. Either way, no game has ever been quite the same without her there.

1. Comment to this entry saying 'ICONS!' and I will pick SIX of your icons.
2. Make an entry in your own journal and talk about the icons I chose.

Got these from Jade...

Keeping in mind that when I came back to and redid my LJ, I definitely wanted to theme the entire thing out of my favorite things about the KOTOR games. Which is why the banner has my three favorite companions of both games. All of the icons below are from one or another of the KOTOR games. I think.

Unobservant as I am, it took me a minute on first glance to realize that this was Carth. It's a weird angle of him. I found it in an icon community; I'm sure it says in my userinfo who made it. I picked it because Carth Onasi is hawtness, and I ADORED him in the game. So much so, Jade, that I now have him as an additional muse :p

I needed a pissed off icon, and I saw this one and liked it. *shrugs* Nothing too complicated.

I'm pretty sure Jolee says this at some point, but I could be wrong. Either way, it's one of the hilarious KOTOR quote icons I came across and couldn't resist.

OK, this is one the the things HK-47 will say in KOTOR 1 when you try and fail to fix his memory. I felt the need to have an "oops" icon, and this made me giggle.

OK, this is the only one on this list that I made. It's what Carth says to those bullying jerks on Korriban, and it made me giggle. I couldn't find an icon that said it, however, so I made one.

OK, honestly, the only reason I recognized it as a KOTOR quote is because it was in a batch of KOTOR icons. No clue who says it where, but it made me giggle, so I snatched it.

Talking loudly on your cell phone, like the guy sitting next to me, while in a computer lab in a library with signs everywhere warning you to only use your cell phone in the stairwells is a sign of major douchebaggery. That is all.

It's probably only healthy by my standards, but it's one of the few things in which I'll willingly eat vegetables.

Start with your pasta of choice. I prefer mostaccioli, but that's just me. Then, get three different types of vegetables, and chop them up bite-sized small. Then, get some chicken. You're also going to need something to use as a marinate AND a salad dressing. Use the same thing for both; I prefer Italian salad dressing. Marinate the chicken in it, and cook it (I recommend grilling) seperately. Then, put the pasta on to boil. This isn't an exact science, so just put in as much as you think you'll eat. When the pasta is about five minutes or so away from being done, pour in the vegetables, and mix it together. When it's all done, cut up the chicken, again into bite-sized pieces, and mix it into the pasta and veggies. Pour some of the dressing you used into the whole thing, then mix again, and enjoy!

Apologies if I'm breaking some kind of cardinal rule here, but I'm making an attempt at writing my own meme. Here goes:

List five everyday, ordinary things that make you happy. Then tag five people to do the same.

1. A good book
2. Really good pancakes
3. Extra fluffy pillows
4. A movie with a happy ending
5. A milk chocolate candy bar with some kind of nut in it.

Tag anyone who wants to try it.

Don't EVER do that to me AGAIN!!!!!

For reasons of internet safety, I won't go into too much detail. But the short version is that I need to get some paperwork done for school ASAP. Because I have issues like that, I couldn't manage to do it myself. So I sent an email to an advisor that I know, asking to make an appointment. She sent me details of when to come in, also, reminded me that my GPA needs to be at least something. THis leads me to the conclusion that I don't have at least that GPA. I was to terrified to look until just now (GPA wise, I'm not all A's, but I should be good), so I spent all of yesterday convinced that my GPA was too low, it's too late to do anything, I'm never getting into the college, I'll be kicked out by my parents.... well, you get the idea. I'm exhausted from all the fear effort. And if you're thinking that I overreacted, well, I think I might have an anxiety disorder, in which case it isn't my fault, so pthththththththbt.

Well, sports fans, thanks to everyone for their wishes about my dad, and special thanks to lastwordslinger. He checked out of the hospital yesterday, and is doing really well for someone who just had bypass surgery. I have temorarily moved out of mom's house, and will be staying with him for the next week or two; he just need someone around to help him.
